Title: Oracle Java 8 Update 101 fails to install
Post by: flynavy on August 03, 2016, 02:52:16 PM
The recent Oracle Java 8 101 failed to install on all computers (22 computers).  The other new updates from the PatchMyPC catalog (23 of them) installed correctly.  The failure code was 80070643.  Previous versions of Java 8 (93) and earlier Java 7 updates have installed correctly on majority of computers

Can you please attached any .log file from C:\Windows\Temp that starts with PMPC_ and email them via a ZIP file on: https://patchmypc.net/technical-support

We haven't had any reports of issues with Java 8 Update 101.

We use the catalog subscription and patch from WSUS.  We don't have the PMPC log files.

If the installation of Java 8 Update 101 was initiated from our SCUP catalog whether WSUS or SCCM, the following logs will exist:

C:\Windows\Temp\PatchMyPC_jre1.8.0_101_X64.msi_Install.log
C:\Windows\Temp\PatchMyPC_jre1.8.0_101_X64.msi_Verbose.log

If they don't exist the installation likely never even started. In this case, can you send c:\windows\windowsupdate.log
