Patch My PC General Discussion / Re: Toolbar install
« Last post by PMPC2013 on April 07, 2013, 06:48:10 AM »
The thing I like the most about this program is the "does it all in the background install".  Turns out that's something I just discovered I don't like also.  It updated Auslogics Disk Defrag.  And, by default, installed Ask Toolbar and changed my homepage.  But Ask has been spanked sufficiently it is no longer on my system or in my registry again.  Is there a "no toolbar or extras" setting or will it be configured in the future not to do this?

I too echo this about the program, and have Auslogics DF and Reg Cleaner. Has this been resolved? I cannot see it in the latest version 2.3.0.4.
Also, is it possible to have the option to not install toolbars, or any default settings, e.g. in Firefox, I use custom install to untick this option as I use other browsers as well, so do not wish to make Firefox default if I did not select custom install this would happen. Otherwise, this is good for high priority windows updates. If my query is resolved, it would great for using PMPC.

Just Ran into this problem myself,

Have also raised it with Bitdefender support so lets see what they say, hopefully it's something they'll fix pretty quickly as don't really want to have to exclude PMPC or turn off the antivirus everytime I want to run PMPC.

Having the same issue with the Malwarebytes update automatically restarting the computer.

It looks like the Malwarebytes installer can be run with a NORESTART switch, although I haven't had a chance to test this.

Hi I ran in to this problem too.. and after some trouble shooting and couple of emails to Bitdefender support I found out that Bitdefenders antivirus on-access scanning is blocking patchmypc.exe... for now if I disable it patchmypc runs just fine. Lets see if Bitdefender can fix this...

Advanced Features / skipping a check

"Always Skip the Following" under options. Is there a way to add programs to that list? The remote software (teamviewer) I use needs to be a certain version on my client machines. It can't be updated, otherwise I won't be able to remote in.

Thanks
